Borrowing Items
Individuals not affiliated with Defiance College may use the Library and borrow books and audiovisual items owned by the Library..
Borrowing Card
A community borrowing card may be obtained by filling out a form at the service desk and showing identification such as a driver's license. Young adults under age 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the form.
Loan Times
Books may be borrowed for an initial 2 week period and audiovisual materials for a 1 week period. Books may be renewed twice, each time for two weeks, as long as a hold has not been placed on the item. You can renew items online through the My Account link or by calling the Library at (419) 783-2481.
Community patrons are not eligible to request interlibrary loans materials.
Ohio Web Library
A core set of our electronic resources are accessible to any Ohio resident through the Ohio Web Library. Some electronic resources are accessible by entering your zip code. Certain electronic resources require you to enter the bar code from an Ohio public library.
Electronic resources available to Defiance College students, faculty, and staff are not available for off-campus use by visitors.
Local High School Teachers
Area high school teachers may arrange to bring a class to the Library to take advantage of our print resources. Tours and library instruction are available. Please call (419) 783-2490 well in advance to make arrangements. Classes of 20 students or less are preferred.
