What is MLA?

Welcome to the MLA resource page. MLA is a style of writing and formatting that is created and updated by the Modern Language Association. MLA style is most commonly used in the Humanities and English courses.

Choose one of the purple tabs to the left to learn how to cite a specific type of resource.

Note: if you have used MLA in the past, you should know that there was an update in 2021. These changes are reflected in the 9th edition of the MLA handbook.
