Defiance College's Pathways to Academic Student Success (DC PASS) is a program to support our conditionally admitted students. The mission of DC PASS is to assist students in achieving their academic and professional goals by maximizing their individual strengths and meeting their individual needs. By participating in DC PASS, students have a community of faculty, staff, and students that are dedicated to walking alongside each of them on their journey the first two years at Defiance College. DC PASS students will take classes with other DC PASS students, be assigned a unique faculty advisor, and develop a personalized academic plan with their DC PASS mentor. DC PASS students are rewarded with book vouchers based on their GPA each semester.
For more information about DC PASS, contact Assistant Dean of Student Success, Lisa Crumit-Hancock, at lcrumithancock@defiance.edu or 419-783-2332.
Academic Coaching at DC: The Success Services of Defiance College is committed to building growth-oriented relationships that inspire students to achieve academic goals. While helping students develop intellectually and emotionally, Success Services staff serve as guides for sustainable academic achievement and empower students to connect to DC resources. Academic coaching is required of Students on Academic Probation. Undergraduate students who did poorly academically and have been placed on probation by the Office of Academic Affairs will complete an Academic Recovery program with Success Servcies. These students will be required to meet with the Assistant Dean of Student Success, complete an Individual Plan for Academic Success (IPAS) and the Learning & Study Skills Inventory (LASSI), and meet weekly with an academic coach for the semester they are on probation. |
