MATH TUTORING - Schedule an Appointment

MATH TUTORING for Spring 2023 will

begin Thursday, January 12, 2023.

  1. Make an appointment using the purple Schedule Appointment box above. Be sure to choose Math Tutoring from the drop-down menu. This will give you the availability for our Math Tutors only and allow you to correctly make an appointment.
  2. After making an appointment, you will receive a confirmation email. On the day/time of your appointment, go to the Academic Support Center (lower level of the Pilgrim Library) to meet with your math tutor.

Peer Tutoring

The Academic Support Center (ASC) provides free individual tutoring sessions. Our tutors, who have been recommended by faculty members, have successfully completed a course prior to tutoring, have a strong understanding of the content material, and have a desire to help others succeed. Tutoring is available in all the disciplines and in most courses offered across campus; however, because we utilize peer tutors and some courses are offered alternate years, we cannot always guarantee we can find you a tutor.

MATH TUTORS are on duty at various times during the day and evening in the ASC (Lower level of the Pilgrim Library). These math tutors can help you with Quantitative Reasoning, College Algebra, and Pre-Calculus. Simply make an appointment and use the Google Meet link in the confirmation email to go online to meet with your Math Tutor.

To assist our students, we also subscribe to free online tutoring from OhioLINK eTutoring.  You can use this free tutoring service using your Defiance College email to sign up. For more information check out this webpage:

Tlearn more about any of the tutoring options contact Lacey Strickler, Academic Support Center Director, at or 419-783-2495.

To request a subject tutor, simply complete the online Tutor Request Form available on this webpage or complete a paper form (available outside of the Writing Studio or outside Lacey Strickler's office, library 123 - the form is on lime green paper).  Once a tutor has been secured for you, the tutor will reach out to you to identify the best days/times for meeting and provide you with a Google Meet link for your online subject/course tutoring.
