Post jobs targeting students and alumni at our school!Employers can post internships or full-time employment opportunities through College Central Network

College Central Network (CNN) is an online, career search database utilized by Defiance College students and alumni to search for career opportunities. CCN allows you to set a deadline for interested students/alumni to apply, and then review resumes online or receive them via email/mail.

If you do not already have an account with College Central Network, you can create an account. Once your account is approved (usually within 24 hours) you can post your available positions directly to the system and begin searching resumes as well.

If you are unable to post your position on College Central Network, please call 419.783.2349.

Check out this Employer help sheet from  College Central Network

We encourage you to highlight your organization to Defiance College students. The Office of Career Development will assist you with all the arrangements.

  • Employer Information Sessions/Tables
Hosting an information session/reception or information table can be an effective component of your overall recruiting strategy. You will have the opportunity to introduce students to your organization, while getting to know their skills and interests. To request an information session or reserve a table please contact Tracy Armey, Assistant Director of Career Development at tarmey@defiance.edu or 419.783.2366.
  • Mock Interviews
Mock interviews are conducted through the year as part of capstone or other courses in students’ majors. Recruiting professionals assist our students in polishing their interviewing skills. Professionals are matched with students seeking experiential or full-time employment in your field. Each interview lasts 20-30 minutes and includes a session at the end for recruiter feedback and student questions. If you would like to participate in mock interviews, please contact Tracy Armey, Assistant Director of Career Development at tarmey@defiance.edu or 419.783.2366.
  • Career-related Presentations, Seminars, and Employer Panels
Work with a student group, a faculty member or the Career development staff to deliver career-related presentations, workshops or panels. This is an opportunity for experts to share industry knowledge and advice. It is also a great way for you to network with students, faculty and Career Development staff

Third-Party Recruiting Policy

In providing services for third-party recruiters, college policy requires that:

1.     Third-party recruiters operate in congruence with the university policy of Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and do not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex, handicap, or national origin.  An employer or agency using the services of Career Development understands that compliance with all related federal and state statutes and regulations is required for initiation or continuance of Career Development.

2.     Third-party recruiters will abide by the Principles for Third-Party Recruiters as described in the NACE Principles for Professional Practice.

3.     All positions listed by third-party recruiters with Career Development be fee paid by the employer.

4.     Third-party recruiters will provide information about their operations and services to Career Development for candidate review. That information may accompany this form, or be forwarded under separate cover.

5.     It will be the responsibility of the candidate to contact the third-party recruiter. Candidate names and/or information concerning candidates will not be released to third-party recruiters unless candidates provide a written release, signed and dated by the candidate, for that specific agency. Federal law requires that confidential letters not be shared with candidates.

Third Party Recruiter Services:  Career Development will promote the job and pertinent information through normal channels which may include the website, posting on bulletin boards, referral to faculty and/or staff, and/or direct referral to candidates.  The third-party recruiters will be listed as the contact and identified as an employment agency.

If a third party-recruiter wishes to interview candidates on campus, or attend career fairs, that recruiter will agree to abide by the above policies and to identify the represented employer(s) to both Career Development and potential college interviewees.  Third-party recruiters who elect to interview on campus should understand that the candidate information provided by Career Development is to be used exclusively for the employer(s) so identified.

Home-Based Business / In-Home Childcare Policy

A personal residence, individual or household seeking personal services (i.e. childcare, housekeeping, outdoor maintenance, etc.), home based business, solely commission-based, or multilevel marketing companies are not considered and are ineligible for listing services through the Career Development Office and College Central.

This policy applies to ALL opportunities – including full-time, internship and part-time positions.
