Mission Statement & Goals

The mission of the Pilgrim Library is to contribute to effective teaching, learning, and research at Defiance College, by promoting information literacy, providing diverse information resources that support the curriculum, collaborating with faculty to further the academic success of students, and actively preserving and presenting Defiance College’s rich history for current and past students as well as the larger community.

Pilgrim Library Goals:
Goal 1:  The Pilgrim Library will enrich the student experience by being the leading choice for all Defiance College students seeking authoritative information, research assistance, technology, and study space, along with providing engaging programming and other activities in a scholarly environment
Goal 2: The Pilgrim Library will work to emphasize faculty partnerships and continually provide user services and access to information for faculty to support their research, the college’s curriculum, and new program and course development as well as collaborate with faculty on campus co-curricular initiatives. 
Goal 3: The Pilgrim Library will continue to optimize essentials including staffing, budget, resources, space, and service to advance the mission of Defiance College.
