How to Borrow a Kindle

Check the Kindle record in the Defiance Catalog to determine if a Kindle is available for borrowing. Use of the Kindles are on a first come/first borrow basis. Library holds are not available for the Kindle.

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of Defiance College may borrow a Kindle.

Loan Period
Kindles may be borrowed for a period of one week and are not eligible for renewal. Borrowers must wait 24 hours after returning a Kindle to the Library before borrowing another Kindle.

What You Borrow
Kindles are checked out with 4 pieces:

  1. a zipped case
  2. a power cord
  3. a USB cable
  4. the Kindle.

You are expected to return all four items to the Library at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components.
